The Kestrel ‘D’ is the highest octave flute we make in the minor ‘D’ key, which makes it a great accompaniment to any of our other bass-tone flutes in the ‘D’ key (RE).
The Kestrel model’s Native American Flute of The Kestrel model in “D” minor is made of domestic black walnut. It is sealed with non-toxic oils giving a clear and bright voice.
This flute is 15 inches (38 cm) long.

The compact size of our Kestrel flutes makes them the ideal choice for those who wish to use their flutes for trips or outdoor activities such as hiking or backpacking.
It is a 6-hole flute, we cover the 3rd hole of the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie, giving the option of using it as a 6-hole or 5-hole flute.
